British Values
At Holy Spirit Catholic and Church of England Primary School we have always promoted and lived out our Christian Values and these values are integral to the character and nature of our school. In 2014 when David Cameron emphasised the importance of British Values in education we were already promoting this and it linked seamlessly alongside our Christian Values. We continue to review our practice in school and are always looking to see how we can develop and make sure our school is reflecting our beliefs. More recently we looked at our Christian Values and our children chose those that they believed mirrored our living faith.
However, our children also know and understand that Jesus promoted the values and importance of a democratic society, the importance of rules and law, individual liberty, the importance of respecting each other and being tolerant of people who hold different faiths and beliefs. Below are some of the ways in which we encourage this.
